How to fix a safety frame without piercing the walls?

It is essential that the two side walls are parallel. (See example)

To fix the frame, simply pressurize the 4 corners of it by loosening the special legs that are provided when you choose this option. We recommend the use of  fine Grip Pliers  to ensure maximum pressure.

How to secure a Velux?

We've put together the information to understand how well  secure a Velux at the bottom of the product sheet.    In summary, there are 2 possible opening types for a Velux:

    • by splash: this is the rarest and easiest case to secure:  a frame with sliding net placed before the Velux.
    • rotatory: we offer 2 types of security, depending on the appearance of the Velux:
      • if the skin is "deep" (>25-30 cm.), then it will be possible to fully secure the Velux;
      • if the covering is shallow, it will then be possible to secure the lower opening.
Placing a frame against the facade?

How to take the measurements for a frame that will be fixed against the facade  rather than between two walls

For a frame  that must be fixed against the facade, we strongly recommend the fixing by means of adjustable brackets.When ordering, it is imperative to  specify in the message  that the width for the frame concerned must be a  strict width.    Without this indication, the width of the frame will be about 30-40 mm less than the indicated dimension. Which net to choose?

The green net,  thanks to its metal filament, is particularly strong and will withstand both wear and weather conditions and a possible appetite of your favorite animal. On the other hand, although apparently more visible than the transparent net, it turns out that the green color quickly becomes invisible to the human eye that focuses in the distance.  ProtectionChat highly recommends its green nets.

The transparent net,  is moderately resistant to UV and weather. On the other hand, it is not very resistant to sharp objects and fangs, which is why  we do not recommend it in places where animals can stay  (e.g., level with the ground). The transparent net will tend to relax through the seasons and an adjustment by the customer is possible. However, it will be necessary to be careful not to strain it too much in hot weather because it will no longer be able to strain itself even when the temperature decreases. Mesh size approx. 3x3cm.

Will the green net decrease the brightness of my home?

Practically not: given the mesh size of the net, the brightness of your home should not decrease by more than 1% - the light impact is therefore tiny.

Measuring accuracy

By measuring the windows I can not know due to my measuring instruments if the height is 172.3 or 172.8, is it negligible? Similar for the width I can not be precise to the millimeter.

In this case, you could average the 2 measurements and take for example:  172.5 or 172.6 cm.

Explanation: the CatProtection frame is about 32 to 40 mm less in height and width to:

  1. make it possible to remedy the disparities of the wall (size, surface area)
  2. take into account the method of attachment chosen (brackets or feet for holding without drilling).
